A26 Oceanic The Oceanic variant is pretty much the "baseline" A26 designed for the Swedish Navy. A26 Oceanic measures 65 meters in length with a surfaced displacement of 2,000 tons. Its range is over 6,500 nautical miles at 10 knots and its endurance at patrol speed is over a month (30 days) thanks to the AIP module.

Compared to the Gotland-class, the new Blekinge-class is slightly longer and heavier, and incorporates state of the art technologies. Oceanic is Saab’s submarine cornerstone. Based on a revolutionary, forward-thinking design and more than 100 years’ of experience. Examples of submarine models in the oceanic range are the Södermanland-class, the Gotland-class and the – currently under production - Blekinge-class (A26) submarines. Today Saab is building the next generation of submarines with the working name A26. This is development work that has its roots in a tradition going back more than a hundred years. Kockums (now Saab) delivered its first submarine with the name Svärdfisken (Swordfish) in 1914. The A26 Oceanic Extended Range, on the other hand, is a stretched version of the Blekinge-class with a 3,000 tonnes displacement and capable to carry up to 50 persons.
